An “excellent” body will have minimal signs of wear and tear. Examples include minor imperfections such as worn leather or metal, age marks on the bottom plate, and blunt marks.
A “good” body will also look good, but will also have additional cosmetic use such as paint blemishes, broken metal, or minor scratches on the body.

We are here for you. Do you have questions about your camera? Photography in general? What’s your new cat’s name We love to chat. The Canon Sure Shot Ace is the cheapest camera I have ever purchased. It’s also my favorite multi-film camera. When a friend told me about this gem, I found it online and paid $10 for the camera with the original case and strap. coffee
If not for its specifications the camera would have been lumped in with other automatic 35mm cameras of the 90s. The Canon Sure Shot Ace features a detachable remote control built into the camera body, two viewfinders (a waist-level viewfinder and a standard viewfinder), and a swivel mount on the bottom.

First of all it should be noted that this camera is not for photographers. Calling it the best is a bit misleading. One, it doesn’t have a very fast lens; Only the 35mm f/3.5 produced. If you strive for the best
Thus, this review will cover most of the specifications of the camera. All of these can be found online by searching the camera manual. But we will focus on usage and images.
Compared to many small compact cameras of its time, it was quite good. My copy has a simple matte black finish, minimalist white type and a big red shutter button that’s the perfect accent. The circular design is innovative. It is more akin to Canon’s upcoming DSLRs than its competitors. The shape of the camera and the style of the shutter button freeze nature.
The Ace has a built-in lens hood that opens by flipping a small switch that turns the camera on at the same time. The bottom swivel mount allows you to lift the camera off the floor or table for the perfect selfie angle. This feature was clearly ahead of its time. Next to the mountain is a bush on a tripod, which I don’t often see on compact cameras like this.

The look is also linked to the style of the body. The only other compact camera that I know of that has successfully implemented the Yashica T series waist level finder. While the Yashica is arguably the better (and more expensive) camera, the Canon dominates in both size and clearly marked focus points on the screen.
The camera itself is easy to use. Everything from metering and autofocus to the flash is automatic. The main controls are two buttons, one to open the shutter and the other to start the camera. A 10-second timer button is also included, but I rarely use it. Therefore you must be comfortable handling the technical functions of the camera. Photographers simply point, shoot, and trust that the photo has been taken. Obstacles are also liberating, allowing you to focus more on your composition or subject.
This activity will be too noisy for photographers who prefer to exercise caution, such as street photographers. Focus is confirmed with a click, then when the shutter button is pressed, you hear the shutter fire and the film moves to the next frame. There’s no way to hide the fact that you’re taking photos. It also defeats the purpose of waist-level trackers promising privacy.
At the bottom of the camera, you simply rotate the swivel foot and press the corresponding button to detach the remote from your body. The camera can detect when the remote control is lost and will activate a small red light on the front of the camera. Sign, click; And after 2 seconds the camera takes over. Easy.

P.S. The good thing I found out is that the remote from Ace also works with DSLRs. When pointed at my 5DMKIV, the remote activated the camera after a 2 second delay.
All cameras with electronic winding motors eventually wear out, and if this is the type there is no hope of repair. A bad motor has destroyed each of my three Nikon Action Touch cameras. It doesn’t matter how much you care about them. The good news is that you can always get another Sure Shot for a lower price. Worry less about the well-being of the camera and more about the shooting. Although these cameras are becoming rare and prices are rising, you will still save money both financially and environmentally by purchasing a roll of film instead of a disposable camera.
I love this little camera lens. It sits at 35mm and has a nice wide aperture of 3.5 (most compact cameras go down to 2.8). In this respect, the Ace surpasses equivalent zoom cameras. Fixed focal length lenses also help with composition. Once I know my scope, I can easily throw the camera at myself and take a picture without looking through the scope for more than a second.
I am always impressed with the results of photographs taken in daylight and harsh lighting. I’m not sure how this camera measures exposure, but it does a pretty good job.

My friend Beth Catt also took a Canon Ace. He sent me some photos to use in this review. This is a great example of how Ace handles difficult lighting conditions.
I like this. Image aesthetics is one of the best reasons to use a compact 35mm. It asks the audience to consider the whole and not the parts. Grain, fog, stray light and blurry details look like crap when zoomed in. But if the viewer is given a small print, zine or phone, everything will be visible. As photos become more popular, unexpected and lucky moments will become champions. Photography is a balance of art, science and luck.
