Losing Weight With Intermittent Fasting And Exercise – I first tried intermittent fasting in 2010 but didn’t stick with it. I lost some weight, but I didn’t have the tools and knowledge to gain momentum, so I gave up and continued to gain weight.
In 2018, I was newly engaged and had to lose 30 kilos before the wedding. I tried different diets and exercises, but the only thing that worked for me was fasting.

Before marriage, I had a terrible feeling in my body. During my twenties I slowly gained weight and it really showed. I didn’t feel like myself anymore and I didn’t want to feel like that on my wedding day either.

I dreamed of being a beautiful bride and feeling beautiful and happy in my own skin. But I had a long way to go to reach my goal. I tried calorie counting, special K diets, and cardio overload at the gym, but to no avail.
That was until I discovered fasting. I started intermittent fasting called OMAD where you only eat one meal a day. I’ve been doing this for a whole month and I’ve already lost ten pounds.
After that I did intermittent fasts as well as some long fasts of 48 hours or more. It was hard fast, but I was happy to see the results. The biggest challenge for me was anorexia and the social aspect of eating. But my body was changing fast and I loved it. I also read about the many health benefits associated with fasting and really felt that it worked.

My wedding was in July 2019. When my dress arrived in March 2019, I had already lost 20 kilos and felt much better. Fast forward to the bachelorette party and I was at my goal weight.
It felt amazing and my wedding was only a week away. Then, on my wedding day, I had the most amazing experience in my body. All the hard work finally paid off.
Switching to a ketogenic diet was also the best option for fasting because it regulated my body fat, which meant I felt less hungry, could fast for longer, and kept my insulin consistently low. And I was losing fat.
I also cut out alcohol to help with weight loss. Alcohol is very high in calories and all kinds of things that cause inflammation in your body and that didn’t help me on my health journey.
Intermittent Fasting: What Is It And How Does It Work?
I found that in order to start burning body fat, your body must first burn off the alcohol you consumed. Therefore, if you continue to drink, you will significantly slow down the weight loss process.
I cut out all soda and anything with artificial sweeteners. I believe all sodas are bad for you, especially zero calorie ones. Calorie-free drinks like Coke Zero contain sweeteners that spike your insulin and break your fast. They also trick your body into expecting sugar, which can slow your weight loss.
Instead, I adopted healthy eating habits like eating slowly and drinking herbal tea before bed. This will help you be more mindful of what you eat and learn to listen to your body’s true hunger and fullness signals.
By December 2021 I have lost 40 pounds through fasting and the ketogenic diet. On a typical day, I’d have a 4:8pm schedule, which meant I’d skip breakfast. For lunch, I have eggs and bacon with a slice of avocado. For dinner, I sometimes have steak with broccoli and mushroom cream sauce. And for dessert, I love Greek yogurt with cinnamon and coconut flakes.

I got all this without work. A common misconception when starting a weight loss journey is that you have to go crazy at the gym or do long, hard workouts to lose weight. This could not be further from the truth!
A typical one-hour exercise session only burns 300 calories, so it won’t make much of a difference in your weight loss. Keto and fasting cause weight loss. Use exercise for all its other benefits, such as mental and physical health.
Changing my diet and incorporating fasting into my routine has completely changed my life.

I am at my goal weight and have maintained it for almost two years. I have more energy and I don’t get as much sugar as I used to. Now I can easily fast without feeling hungry and I am very strong and healthy physically and mentally.

Marching for drum and bugle corps from Mobile, Alabama, I lost about 30 pounds in the summer of 2017. After the tour was over, I never thought I’d get it back. But my diet was terrible, I played too many video games, and I was generally unhealthy. Although I tried to lose weight, nothing seemed to work. I started to feel hopeless. I soon gained 60 pounds—at my heaviest I was 321 pounds.
I felt like a bowling ball. Walking, standing and just being is painful. My clothes never fit and it was hard for me to be who I am. I was 22 years old and felt like there was nothing I could do to change my life. As a teacher, I wanted to be a role model for my students, and as a 321-pound man, I didn’t think I was a role model.
I realized that some of my friends still march in drum corps and if they can do it, so can I. It was hard – I wanted to quit almost every day that first month.

I also started running. The first day I walked a little less than half a mile and thought I was going to die. I was shaking; Basically, I was stuck thinking I couldn’t do it. The next day I got up and went and did it again. A thermogenic fat burner supplement also helped me stay motivated.
I restricted my diet, but with a huge appetite, I had to be very careful about what I put in my body. I eventually got to the point where I was eating one solid, nutritious meal every day. Coming to the meal the next day motivated me to stick with it.
The fat started to melt and my clothes fit a ton better than before. I kept searching the internet for what would be best for me. After I got down to about 260 pounds, I started going to the gym. I started HIIT because I thought I would really enjoy it and it always made me feel good. I’m used to working out – in a good way – and how it makes me feel.
I started drinking protein shakes and pretty soon I inevitably started losing weight. There is no other way to put it. I found intermittent fasting and it worked for me. I eventually started lifting weights and cutting back on cardio because I wanted to build endurance through intensity rather than steady cardio.

I lost at least 114 pounds of fat, probably mostly because of the muscle I gained. It took me about a year to reach my lowest weight of 207 pounds. I feel incredible right now because we are working together
