That’s a difference of about 6.5 pounds for a 160-pound woman with a weight loss goal. In addition, the afternoon meal was associated with a slightly higher consumption of fruit and vegetables.
It is good to pack food and eat the same food every day. A 2015 study conducted at the Friedman School of Food Science and Policy at Tufts University looked at the diets of 6,814 people and found that the more food a person eats, the more likely they are to gain weight. In fact, those who ate a variety of foods showed a 120 percent increase in waist circumference compared to those who had the least variety. In other words, people who are most successful in losing weight choose a variety of foods and stick to them.

My packed meals are a little different than the weight loss meals I’ve been eating all summer (you can find the healthy snacks here!). These lunches are the majority of the food on my plate, except I split the grain and fruit into portions, I eat 1/4 of the carbs in the meal – so I choose between grain or fruit).
For weight loss, I found the Macro plate to cover 1/2 of your vegetarian diet. After maintaining the weight, I use the Myplate meal plan method, and get in some extra carbohydrates!
Instead, I used some edible food containers I found at Walmart (very cheap, only $3.46 for 5). These had the best seal and my wear didn’t show on other parts. (
