Weight Loss Tips For Women Over 50 – Four years ago, Diane Naylor, now 63, retired and moved from Fresno to Oakhurst, California, and she’s enjoying all the new activities her new location has to offer: hiking trails, hiking trails in Yosemite and great weather for outdoor living.

“I was down and down with my depression,” Naylor said. “I wasn’t active and I couldn’t do everything I wanted.”

Naylor had tried to lose weight a few times in the past, but always gave up when she ran out of food. He was hopeless until an episode of the TV show “Castle” inspired him to try again.

“One of the therapists told the director he should follow his dreams,” Naylor said. He pointed to the bodies and said: ‘All those people had dreams, but their time is up, so don’t let them go.’ It’s like a light bulb – I have many dreams, and I want to make them come true.”

The next day, Naylor began her weight loss journey and hasn’t looked back since. Here, he shares the steps he took to lose 225 pounds and offers advice for people in similar situations:

“Don’t hesitate,” said Naylor. “Nobody gets too young, and the younger you are, the easier it is. I started at 59, proving that anyone can do it. Why start in six months? Start!”

Naylor began pacing up and down his driveway. In the beginning, it was difficult for him to go to the mailbox. Even though he felt off balance, like he was going to fall, he stuck with it. After he lost 20 pounds (thanks to walking and a new diet), he started riding his bike indoors and going for long walks around his neighborhood.

, he walks 4-mile trails and 20-30 mile bike rides with his daughter. It does not stop moving until it reaches 10,000 feet per day. Naylor emphasized starting small, and increasing your strength as you move.

Naylor joined the Taking Off Pounds Sensibly group, also known as TOPS, after losing 50 pounds on her own. The company provides accountability and ongoing support. Naylor attends meetings every Monday, and receives calls, emails and letters of encouragement from other members when she starts.

“The Monday meetings help me take care of myself on the weekends when I’m cheating,” Naylor said. “If you can’t join a like-minded group – start your own! Find like-minded people who understand and support you.”

“I learned how to eat fish. I didn’t care about it before, but I bought an air fryer that helped me cook it without fat and I really like the way it cooks delicious,” said Naylor.

Before Naylor found TOPS, she tried everything to lose weight, from Weight Watchers to Jenny Craig, and it always worked.

Now, instead of looking at his lifestyle as a “diet”, he approaches small changes for a healthy and long life. He started eating more green vegetables, less junk and moving more.

You’ll hit weight plateaus along the way – it’s inevitable – but if you stick with it, you’ll keep losing weight.

“It takes six to eight weeks for the scale to move, but during that time, you’ll see inches coming off your body,” she explains and emphasizes the importance of never giving up!

“Candy, popcorn and ice cream are my temptations. Staying healthy is a daily decision,” Naylor said. Of course, it can feel overwhelming, but he recommends looking at it as one decision, one meal at a time, and the key is to be consistent.
