It tastes great. Even if you’re not a big fan of celery or parsley, the combination of apple, lemon, and ginger makes this juice slightly sweet and refreshing. It’s almost like drinking ginger lemonade!

While eating more fiber is a good thing, a recent study found that vegetable juices made from fruits and vegetables (in this case, Japanese spinach) can also help lower cholesterol.

While you can certainly juice any fruit or vegetable you have on hand, here’s a brief overview of the detox ingredients in this juice recipe.
• cucumber. Cucumbers are about 96% water, so they can help you stay hydrated, and other studies show they can help control blood sugar.
• celery. Celery contains antioxidants that may aid digestion by protecting the pancreas. Research also shows that it can help improve cognitive function.
• Italian parsley. Parsley is a natural diuretic and rich in vitamin K. Research shows that parsley juice has protective effects against environmental toxins, especially heavy metal exposure (such as cadmium, which was tested in this study).

• apple. Even if the fiber is removed, apple juice can still help prevent oxidative stress due to its high antioxidant content.
• Yellow lemon. Lemons are known for their detoxifying properties, which may be due to their high vitamin C content. The antioxidants in lemon juice may even have a protective effect on the liver, especially if the liver has been damaged by alcohol consumption.
• ginger. Eating ginger has been proven to improve digestion and even help your immune system through its antiviral properties. Ginger has many potential health benefits, and you can also try making ginger tea.
If you want to shake things up, try adding fresh radishes or kale as a substitute for any of the above ingredients. This way you get more nutrients!
Best Detox Drinks To Make In 2024
First, you need to wash your fresh produce and cut it into sizes that fit in the juicer chute. If you’re using a masticating juicer with a narrow chute, you may need to chop everything into pickle-sized pieces. (The celery stalks should fit perfectly, but for best flavor, remove the leaves.)
Centrifugal juicers, like the one I’m using in the photo, tend to have larger slides and therefore require minimal cuts. If you’re using a large apple, you may need to trim an edge or two to fit. Otherwise the rest will fit!
This is the advantage of using a juicer with a large chute that minimizes prep work. I prefer the Breville juicer (<affiliate link) to any other model I've tried because the prep and cleanup process is so quick.
If your juicer has two speed settings, start with the low speed. Add the whole cucumbers, then the celery and parsley. (If you use a centrifugal model, this will prevent the parsley from flying around the juicer.)
Coriander Mint Juice
Turn to high speed and juice the apples, ginger, and lemon. You don’t need to peel the lemons for this recipe, as the peel also contains nutrients, but if you’re worried about the bitter taste, you can cut off the peel first.
Pro Tip: When placing the apples and lemons in the slot, sandwich the fresh ginger between them so the ginger can firmly contact the juicer blade without flying apart.
Once the product is juiced, it can be consumed immediately. Fresh juice is best enjoyed immediately to maximize nutrient absorption.
If you must make the juice ahead of time, fill an airtight container to the top and close the lid to minimize oxidation overnight in the refrigerator. Juice made with a centrifugal juicer is best consumed within 24 hours, but if you have a mastic juicer, the juice can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
