So you’ve seen me use metal molds, but I’m sure you’ve also seen me make candles made from a variety of supplies online and at your local craft store. Aside from metal, plastic or silicone molds are widely used, and you may want to use them for a variety of purposes.

Plastic models are the cheapest models available. If you’re new to candle making and don’t want to spend a lot of money on something you haven’t done yet, plastic is a great place to start.

But like I said, plastic molds are cheap and easy to change.

Silicone molds are very popular right now! Not only are they useful for this, they also make excellent soap or cake tins, making them incredibly versatile. Due to the flexibility of silicone molds, their main function is to achieve creative and creative shapes that cannot be worked with rigid molds. While you can get the funky look of plastic, silicone pushes the boundaries even further.
Think of it this way, once the wax hardens inside the mold, you simply pull back on the silicone to pop the candle out, making this difficult and tedious process a nightmare. So I’ve already mentioned making a pillar candle step by step above, but I felt the need to mention it again because it’s one of the most frustrating parts of the project! You have poured your tar. It has a good shape, even for the base or top. But after a few hours it sank deeper and began to look terrifying. How rude!
The problem of ‘why do homemade candles sink in the middle’ has a simple answer and a simple answer. The wax sinks when it dries because when the wax cools it slowly shrinks and can leave what I call ‘deep holes’ between your candles, but in the form of indentations around the string it can also be found.
