Today’s blog post is a roundup of books I read in 2022 that received a B+ or higher rating. As you can see below, when I find a winner I like, I get excited about the author and end up reading many books by the same author. I’m definitely into simple, casual reading this year too. So if you like this type of novel, you’re in luck! I hope you find something new to add to your reading list from the books mentioned below.

Life Is Too Short was recommended by many people and I’m glad I read it. This is an A book through and through. Life is Too Short is like a romantic comedy in book form, but with heart and soul. I love it!

When the baby’s screams woke Adrian Copeland and his sleeping girlfriend, he reluctantly ran down the hall of his apartment building and asked a neighbor to take the baby to a bedroom that did not share a wall with his. He was greeted by a tired and nervous Vanessa Price, who finally offered to hold the baby she was holding for her half-sister and encouraged her to take a bath. Vanessa, a YouTube personality unknown to Adrian, was shocked. The hot lawyer next door is also a baby whisperer! ? Vanessa was even more surprised by the days and weeks that followed her nightly encounters—days where she spent a lot of time with Adrian, time that gave her feelings she swore she’d never felt, because she had something faced big. The future is becoming more and more uncertain.

I read this book in two installments due to a long trip to and from Idaho last weekend. I had high hopes after reading and (in a twisted way) enjoying Riley Sager’s Final Girls

Books For Men You Should Read At Least Once, According To Guys

, a thriller by the same author. He absolutely nailed this book and I was engrossed in the story from the start. I love a good thriller and I’m even more excited when it has not one, but two big twists.

The Last Time I Lie begins 15 years after the disappearance of Vivian, Natalie and Allison, three teenage girls who secretly left Dogwood Lodge at Camp Nightingale in the middle of the night never to be seen again. Emma lives in Dogwood with three missing girls, and her friends’ disappearance changes her life forever. Fifteen years later, Emma is an aspiring artist who, unbeknownst to her clients, hides her three missing friends in each of her paintings. Emma is conflicted when the owner of Camp Nightingale buys one of Emma’s paintings and invites her back to the camp that still haunts her.

Emma finally agrees to attend the camp as an art teacher and is surprised to find that Camp Nightingale remains essentially unchanged. Her childhood crush is there, a counselor she remembers is there…but the security cameras pointed directly at her old cabin are new, as are the creepy and increasingly suspicious things going on around her. . Will returning to Camp Nightingale bring Emma answers to her unanswered questions, or is returning to the place she left 15 years ago a very, very bad idea?

I was totally smitten with love and other words. The story moves from past to present, with Macy Sorensen recently reunited with her first love, Elliot Petropoulos. The two first met as teenagers and bonded over their love of reading, a bond that strengthened throughout their childhood.

Best Books I’ve Read This Year

Eleven years later, Messi and Elliott have never spoken again, because one night more than a decade ago, everything changed. When they meet in a coffee shop, their feelings return—a feeling that could change everything, including Macy’s engagement to a famous artist and the first man she’s felt comfortable with since Eliot.

The story is beautiful and romantic, but the parts of the novel that really resonated with me revolved around the way the author wrote about teenage love, first encounters and first falls. It was so honest, pure and beautiful and I absolutely loved reading about Macy and Elliot’s young love. Since the novel jumped to the present, the plot was interesting enough to keep me engaged, but the flashbacks to “Love and other words” were the most memorable for me in this romantic read.

When I shared my blog post about recommended beach reads, a few of you recommended Abby Jimenez’s books to me, and I’m so glad you did because I loved the first book I read by this author. Love it a lot! It came “so close” to getting an “A” rating from me, but the first half of the book felt a bit redundant at times. I felt like a whole 100 pages could have been cut because most of the book seemed to repeat the same thing over and over again between the two main characters, and the same internal struggle kept cropping up.

(Also for anyone struggling with infertility, this book has a lot to say about infertility, and without giving away any spoilers, I can imagine if you are in one right now. Fragile in places, this is probably a book to avoid should be.)

Happy Place Curated On Ltk

Now about the story… it was a hot moment because I loved the male lead in the book as much as I loved the book. Josh is supposed to be the best man at his friend Brandon’s wedding, and when he meets bridesmaid Christine, he’s immediately smitten by her wit, intelligence, humor, ambition, and her “I don’t care.” About the “cool girl” attitude. However, Kristen is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend Tyler, who is deployed but could return at any time.

Unbeknownst to Josh, Kristen has mixed feelings about Taylor’s return and her plans to move in together for the first time. As Kristen and Josh grew closer, she decided to distance herself from him for a myriad of reasons. The story begins with her commitment to Tyler and ends with her learning that Josh wants a big family, and Kristen is very happy about that. She realized that after years of pain and struggle, she would not be able to give him the biological gift that would eventually bring her body relief after the operation. This book is romantic, hilarious, funny and has some depth. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beach read who doesn’t mind a little excess.

When I’m looking for light beach reads, Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors because she’s dominated the genre for years, and for good reason. The Nantucket Hotel is her latest novel and it is an absolute gem! I can imagine that this book might be a little too “empty” for some people, but it was exactly what I was looking for when I was away from home in Florida for a month.

I thought the concept of the book was creative – one of the main characters is Grace, the ghost of a 19-year-old maid who was murdered at the Nantucket Hotel in 1922 – and the reopening of the hotel made everyone on the island Amid . the excitement prompted some skepticism.

Lizbet Keaton and her boyfriend of more than 15 years were Nantucket sweethearts until their unexpected breakup inspired Lizbet to start over. Landing a demanding hotel manager job at a Nantucket hotel, she is determined to make the shabby hotel the first to receive the coveted “5 Key” rating from Instagram travel influencer Shelly Carpenter. This is the goal that Xaviar Darling has set for herself. The new owner of the hotel (billionaire!) is introduced. When the hotel opens and welcomes its first guests, everything looks perfect from the outside, but beneath the surface drama begins to arise, partly due to the ghost of 19-year-old maid Grace Hadley Haunted, she is drawn to her determination to find someone once and for all always telling the truth about her death.

Jasmine Guillory is respected by those who enjoy sweet romance stories, but I admittedly wasn’t that enthusiastic about The Wedding Date , the first book I read by this author. Fortunately, some of you have been encouraging
