This review shows that there are many misconceptions among designers, contractors and regulators about certain provisions of the legally adopted National Building Code of Canada (NBC) and the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I (CE Code) regarding the use and installation of electrical equipment.
The Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, is a key element of Canada’s electrical safety system. Its value comes from its ability to foster innovation and economic opportunity while helping to ensure the safety of the public and workers. Although the code is updated every three years to reflect technological advances and other important events, the frequency of these updates and the large number of changes in each release can make further work difficult. Choosing the right training program will allow you to quickly understand new requirements and unlock the value of your code. Electrical engineers, contractors, tradesmen, manufacturers and especially electricians around the world use different color codes of electrical wires to install cables and wires and distribute electricity in industrial buildings or homes. Some color codes for wires and power cables are mandatory, while others are optional. Correct color coding of wires used in installations is the best strategy for keeping track of line, neutral and ground, saving time, easy maintenance/troubleshooting and protecting everyone working on it.
There are different colors of different wires and cables in different regions for alternating (alternating), single-phase, three-phase and direct current (DC) for design and installation based on local regulations, rules and regulations. The most famous are the NEC “National Electrical Codes”, followed by the United States and Canada, and the IEC “International Electrotechnical Commission” codes, followed by the United Kingdom, most European countries, Argentina, etc.

NEC AC Wire Color Codes – USA and Canada USA – NEC AC Wire Color Codes (Single Phase and Multiphase)
The National Electrical Code (NEC) required colors for power cords are green, bare, or green/yellow (yellow stripe or green stripe) for “PG” protective ground and white (alternatively gray) for the neutral conductor. For live conductors (linear or hot), any of the above expected colors can be used. Meanwhile, the following colors were adopted in local practice and used for lines, neutrals and earthing.

As noted above, most European Union countries plus the United Kingdom, China, Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Israel, Turkey, Argentina, South Africa, Saudi Arabia (Saudi Arabia), the United Arab Emirates (UAE ) ) and Malaysia are governed by the IEC “International Electrotechnical Commission” electrotechnical regulations. Please note that some of the above countries such as the UK, Russia and China etc used to use their own ‘old wire color codes’ but now follow the IEC circuit wire codes.
Prior to March 2004, the UK used its own driver color codes. These old wire color codes are still used in subcontinents including India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
Russia used the same wire color codes as China before, but modified the IEC with minor changes, i.e. j. in a three-phase system they can use violet or gray instead of gray in IEC. Since things have changed a bit in Russia, you need to follow the tester before you get into a mess.
Both Australians and Kiwis use the same color codes for single-phase and three-phase power circuits.

As the name suggests, Japan is always doing weird things. Single-phase power supply is 100V (line to neutral) and three-phase power supply is 200V (3 lines, without neutral). For a surprising reaction, look at the popular neutral colors and phase 3 colors. They are the same, ie white (read the note below after the three phase codes for an explanation).
Please note that a neutral wire is not required for three-phase power in Japan, so do not panic when choosing a “third line” in three phases and a normal neutral wire in white.
