The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) at the Kennedy Krieger Institute is a multidisciplinary interdisciplinary program serving children, families, and professionals in the autism community. The center provides clinical services, research, and training to identify potentially autistic children and adolescents, enrich their life experiences, empower parents, and promote family well-being through evidence-based practices. Our primary work is to develop effective new models of care for families and providers at the local, national and international levels.

Rebecca Landa, PhD, CCC-SLP, is the founder and director of the Reach Research Program at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. He is also a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Through federal and foundation funding, Dr. Landa has made groundbreaking discoveries about the development of children with and without ASD from early childhood through adolescence. They translated these findings into new interventions and demonstrated the effectiveness of these interventions in clinical trials in the home, clinic, child care settings, and public schools. Dr. Landa is the author of the Pragmatic and Social Communication Rating Scale and the Play Screener program.
