Bay Alarm Medical offers a variety of health alarm systems, including a smart watch and two separate movement devices. Our customer service review team called to learn more about Life Alert’s pricing and review features. This is the only way to start shopping for the Life Alert System because the website does not include pricing information and you cannot purchase your package online.

As soon as we mentioned during our phone conversation that we had questions about Life Alert products, we were asked if we would like a brochure sent to our home. Our review team made it clear that we didn’t want to wait to hear from the product prospect, so they moved us to a “product specialist” or sales rep.
Medical Alert System For Seniors
On our first call, the product specialist was friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. They asked us a few questions to better understand the situation and help us choose the right system. The representative walked us through each Life Alert health alarm system and their functions, as well as costs and service fees.
Although this call was helpful and provided most of the information in this article, it lasted more than 30 minutes.
Our evaluation team received the product description within two weeks of our Life Alert call. There is no information about prices in the booklet.
Our customer service review team called Life Alert a second time to confirm the information we received from our first call. This time, the sales representative refused to answer our direct questions about product offerings, costs or pricing. We were told, “That’s not how we do things.”
Medical Guardian Review And Prices
The representative said they could only provide an explanation if we went through a 45 minute briefing on a “specific loved one”.
We called a third time to try and get an answer but were transferred to billing, service and finally marketing. Our review team left a message with the marketing department and at this time had not received a response.
Our review team has had bad experiences with Life Alert calls when they have contacted the company in the past. We have spoken to sales representatives who were pushy, pressured us to buy, or did not directly address pricing or contract questions.
The Life Alert website is outdated, cluttered and confusing to navigate. The navigation bar at the top of the page contains generic terms such as why life alarms are the best and retirement home avoidance, which do not tell visitors which pages they are being directed to.
Buyer’s Guide: Choosing A Medical Alert System
When you visit the website on a phone, the navigation menu is completely different from what you see on a desktop computer. Our review team likes that the mobile menu has more specific navigation labels like medical emergency, how it works, and life alert, but we’d like to see more useful mobile menus on the desktop page.
Life Alert does not display pricing or subscription information. Even pages for individual products, such as on-the-go system pages, do not contain pricing information.
You can only buy the Life Alert package over the phone, which often requires listening to a 30-45 minute sales pitch. It is not possible to buy the system online.
When our review team asked about the brand’s strict three-year contract in the past, we were told that the contract could only be canceled if the user died or if a relative could prove the user had 24-hour care.
Medical Alert Systems & Installation Services
In another call with a Life Alert sales representative, I was told that the contract is a service agreement that guarantees that your monthly price will not increase for the first three years of service.
The representative assured me that users can withdraw from the contract, but they will be penalized with a fee. This penalty is equivalent to two months of supervision fees. Depending on the plan chosen, it would cost almost $100-$200 to cancel the Life Alert service.
Our review team could not find any supporting information about the penalty fee or this policy online, in the email or in other calls with the Life Alert sales team.
It is important to note that no contract is required for any other medical alert system tested by our review team.
