Math Lessons For A Living Education Level 1 – I really like using the Charlotte Mason method in our school. When I first saw Math for Living Education, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I used it last year for 1st and 3rd grade and bought it for 2nd and 4th grade last year.
I bought all the products in today’s review and gave my unbiased opinion. We are secular homeschoolers who use Christian tools and adapt them as needed. I used levels 1 and 3 and plan to use levels 2 and 4 next year in addition to all math lessons.

If you’ve been following our school journey, you know that we use The Good and the Beautiful Math K and we love it! I love that it’s practical and fun for kids. I used to have my two children go to school together even though they were 18 months apart. When I finished Kindergarten, I bought The Good and The Beautiful 1 public from now on. We quickly realized that even though the curriculum was similar to Level K, it just wasn’t for us.
The main reason we needed to find something new was the opportunity for children to learn math on their own. Unfortunately, The Good and The Beautiful doesn’t seem to be available. I like the hands-on approach, but the first-grade lessons overwhelm the teacher and are too long. Since we had a baby and a toddler, we needed to find something for the kids that didn’t need a lot of equipment or games and was independent. I believe there is value in a hands-on approach, but I like that the core of the lesson is not required. Honestly, sometimes I want to be flexible and help myself with simple controls and games. After much research, I decided to use mathematics in teaching. I will explain about this course and why I chose it.

“Math Lessons for Living Education” is a basic math lesson for homeschoolers. It is about faith and there are six books so far. I like the so-called “levels” instead of grades. Therefore, children can work independently without being bound by the level. This course is based on Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy, which I love. In teaching mathematics, you will find the main topics related to lectures, textbooks and oral and written texts.
My children love stories and are interested in all things good stories. This is the main reason I did this course. Instead of each lesson being part of a story, the whole lesson is a continuous story about the lives of the twins, Charlie and Charlotte. This problem persists in all groups. Behavior will develop as your child grows. A good story encourages children to make connections between imagination and reality. This is exactly what happens in this lesson. Charlie and Charlotte’s experiences make math practical and memorable. It is written at a level that even children can read, so I tell them to read it aloud in the lesson. Eventually they will read the story and complete the task on their own.
There is no need to purchase a teacher’s guide or official guide. This book was written so that parents and children can discuss what they have learned together. In some cases, documentation may also be available to help parents explain the process. Great books are written for children, not teachers, so that children can learn more on their own. Practice lessons are also available, but you only need equipment you already have at home. All you need to buy to get started is a book! I plan to have a chiropractor close by so the kids can get what they need, but I can take my math book to the park or the doctor’s office and complete a class without a break.

I bought Level 1 for all the kids (ages 6 and 7), although my oldest is ready for Level 2. Before taking the next step, I want my children to know the characters in the story and to be confident in how to incorporate new lessons.. in skills that challenge them every day. When it’s math time, I put them at the end of the table and they all work on their own while I walk between the tables. My daughter can read 2-3 pages in 20 minutes, while my son can finish a “week” of lessons in one sitting. Although they work in different ways, both children move forward and feel that they have done something.
We’ve only been using Math lessons for live education for a few weeks, but I’m sure we’ll be using the app for a while.
