There are tons of ways to do this, so I’m just going to show you how I do my weekly meal plan for weight loss and my weekly meal plan for my shopping list. Very easy!

Every week, usually Monday or Tuesday, I sit down and decide what to have for dinner 6 nights a week. On our 7th night, I think we’ll eat leftovers or grab something from the leftover ingredients.

I write or list all the ingredients needed for each recipe. A new thing I’m doing is trading my pantry. Anything I have on hand (not mentioned in our current weekly meal plan) makes it off my list. That leaves me with what to buy.

Finally, if necessary, I mix the ingredients so that I know how much of the ingredients I need to buy at the store. When my husband calls in with his weekly lunch requests, I add them to our go-to list. We’re not big breakfast eaters, so I usually don’t need to add much to this meal.

If your family has groceries, include them in the list. When I go shopping, I try not to buy anything that isn’t on my list! Save money and time. I make an exception for marked meat. If I can get a really good deal on something that I can freeze and use later, I’ll take it! Lower and lower meat prices are my only motivation.
