National Electrical Code Of India 2023
Since 1914, the National Electrical Safety Code has been the standard for electrical and telephone companies. The code is renewed every five years. The 2023 edition was released on August 1st and will go into effect on February 1st.
NESC promotes better protection of workers, the public and utilities during the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical and communications equipment. Updates are designed to keep the code current as new technologies are introduced and safer ways of working are discovered.
Organized and published by the IEEE Standards Association and approved by the American National Standards Institute, NESC has contributed to major electrical safety codes for many US states, territories, and military bases; Caribbean; and other organizations and countries around the world.
Not to be confused with the National Electrical Code, which deals primarily with indoor wiring for homes and businesses, the NESC focuses on outdoor wiring that connects homes and businesses, substations and telecommunications plants and their overhead and substructures. .
