The Maple Leafs’ in-house design team asked Tampa’s Conrad R. Garner, the game’s independent “creative weapon,” to create something special for the franchise’s 100th season in May.

“It was an incredible amount of work in such a short amount of time,” Garner said. “This is the biggest project I’ve ever done. “I created a few sketches to help sell the idea and once approved I have about 17 days to create the finished piece for about 60 pieces.”
The tickets feature classic quotes and iconic images from the letters, creating a fresh and unique feel while celebrating the franchise’s past and glory days. From Turk Brody to Austin Matthews, from King Clancy to Morgan Riel, Garner has poured nearly 500 hours into the perfect tribute for everyone.

“It was a great balance between direction and freedom. I felt like we all got on the same page with the vision very quickly, and once I was in the hole, the work started to fly,” says Garner, who worked with Leafs art director Louis Cohen and creative director Matt Coyle on the series They Put many hours I think so.

Garner, 33, graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and fine arts. “Now I live in Tampa and I’m a Lightning fan. I still love leaves and have always loved leaves. “Some I love just because of the image and others because of what a certain player said. But I like them all,” he said.
“I would create them very quickly and move on to the next until I could sit and look at them all together and enjoy them all. I’d look at something I’d done before and say, “Oh, yeah, I remember that.”
The playoffs may be a long way off, but the franchise is alive and well this season.
“If Canada would let me, I would love to see a personal game,” Garner said. “Can I open a prison for this or something?” There are only a handful of Leafs tickets available this season (Ducks on Friday, February 7th) and somewhere there is a die-hard Leafs fan and friend of AE. watching the game, especially from the gold center front row seats. We’ll also give an extra $100 in cash to cover the cost of a couple beers and hot dogs.

I don’t remember much from 1967, but I do remember going to my first Leafs game with my dad. On that memorable night, we sat close enough to see the player’s face (helmetless at the time). As proof that I was actually there, during the second break we went to the gift shop where I picked out a bunch of pictures of him plastered to my face.
Even back then, playing in the NHL was a luxury and amenity that most families could not afford. So with the few tickets I have left this season, I would like to give them to someone who has a child or parent who may not be able to see an ACC game.
