Transfer From Canadian Bank To Us Bank – My PayPal currency is in USD and I have some money there that I would like to transfer to my RBC USD account. But when I try this, PayPal wants to automatically send the amount in CAD. Is there a way to prevent this? PayPal says it’s just contacting customer service:
There are other ways to get instant money on a bet, but I couldn’t link my card to them. When I try to access PayPal’s Yodley thing through my RBC account it says “something went wrong”.

Do I need a Visa debit card? Does this allow me to withdraw my PayPal balance without conversion?

The short end is: you can’t. PayPal prevents this, so they may overcharge you for currency fees. The only way to make ends meet is to have an account in the United States.
Do you mean a free switch to Transferwise? I think there is a fee? Or is that a virtual card I’m reading?

See online for procedures. Make sure you select the correct account (checkout or save…sorry, can’t remember which one to disable)

TransferWise Multi-Currency Account is free and accepts USD directly. However, you will need to convert them to CAD in order to send the money back to Canada. They cannot send US dollars back to Canada unless you do a wire transfer (which is very expensive per transaction).
To transfer US dollars back to Canada, you will need to open an RBC Georgia US account (this is the US side of RBC) and link it to your Canadian RBC USD account. The annual fee for this account is $40. They have a promo where the account is free for the first year.
TD also has a similar bank account, the TD Conveyance Checking Account, offered by TD Bank N.A. You can link it to a TD Canada Trust USD account and transfer USD between accounts. TD Convenience Checking has no monthly fees if you maintain a minimum balance of $100, so it’s cheaper than RBC.

I checked a random amount like 20,000 and it said $7 for their fee but I’m not sure how much the money transfer is? Is it a percentage or fixed?

I assume I have to go to a branch to open their US accounts? I only have one RBC Canada USD account.

TransferWise charges a flat rate for outgoing money transfers. RBC also charges a $17.00 wire transfer fee.
Thanks, I’ll wait now. I also installed TransferWise, but I’m still not getting confirmation that PayPal has been deposited into my account.
Wow, I just checked, but with PayPal I can now send USD to my account in Canada.

Wow, I just checked, but with PayPal I can now send USD to my account in Canada. Be careful. This can result in a double conversion from USD to CAD via PayPal and then a conversion from CAD to USD via RBC. It also takes at least 1 day for PayPal deposits to appear.
You also don’t want to link your TransferWise account to PayPal. It costs $1.40 to withdraw money from TransferWise to a US account. You want to link your RBC Georgia account. If you use the RBC Cross Border package, you can basically ignore TransferWise.
But something strange happens. I added my RBC USD account and the deposits were not verified. But I sent her $10 USD because I didn’t have to wait for it to verify, and the amount showed up as $10 USD in my RBC, so it works.

Otherwise, the RBC USD account is 100% functional. I should add them again if possible. Because I can’t link back to it. I used this page:

Dragynfyre wrote: ↑ PayPal stopped supporting the RBC Canadian USD feature some time ago. If you request it, it will not be added again. No, I called him yesterday, he added. When I said my account was valid because I manually added it as a US account, this was confirmed. It only asked for the routing number I provided in the link above. I see it has been verified on my account.
So yesterday I sent her USD and it says “the transfer is delayed” because it needs to be confirmed within 24 hours. I will update if it works.
Online chat support is useless, but phone support doesn’t hurt if you can get in touch with someone.

Hello, but I am also new to translation and just arrived. this thread. . I want to make sure I have this right as I am just trying to send USD money from my PayPal account to my bank account (CAD) without losing the conversion/bet.
Withdraw USD money from Transferwise to a CAD bank account using the “Send USD” button on the USD balance page, then go to “International” in the Send Money menu in Transferwise (good rates/fees).
I confirm that I have transferred US dollars from PayPal to my RBC USD Canadian account without any fees or currency conversion.
