Weight loss as a concept is very simple. If you burn more calories than you consume (food and drink), you will lose weight. Easier said than done.
Let’s start with the ways we get calories: resting metabolic rate (the calories we burn to stay alive, like pumping blood or growing new cells), sedentary (standing, walking around the house, washing, cleaning, etc.), exercise, and food-induced thermogenesis (eating energy needed to digest food).
Exercise only accounts for 5% of the calories we burn. So we can’t skip the wrong food.
You’ll need to walk for about an hour or run for 23 minutes to burn off one donut. Additionally, exercise, especially vigorous exercise, increases our appetite and can actually cause us to eat more and inadvertently move less over the next few days. You don’t need to do a lot of exercise, but a little movement every day is good for your overall health.
What Is A Plant Based Diet And Why Should You Try It?
The good news is that you can lose weight without exercise or hours at the gym. Walk a lot, but don’t make it your main source of calories for weight loss.
Take a brisk 30-minute walk or light weight-bearing exercise several times a week.
Best time to exercise? In the morning before eating, it is common to apply as much fat as possible.
If not possible, the next best time is 6 hours after eating, for example before dinner, or before dinner if you eat early.

Why? Carbohydrates are our body’s favorite fuel, meaning they break down into blood sugar after we eat them.
