What Food Place Is Open Right Now – Kelapa Gading is known as an area rich in food, and yes, that means all kinds of food. One of the latest visitors to provide a good food investment experience is OTW Food Street. It came out strong with a unique and very solid concept. It introduces people to classic street food like Indonesian fried rice, Japanese rice dishes, American burgers, and traditional dishes and snacks from martabak to cendol. With so many options to choose from, guests will be delighted (or confused) when deciding what to eat for lunch/dinner. I personally found the various options positive. It’s great to meet up with friends for a social gathering or just to hang out somewhere nice and reasonably priced as a supplement.
I visited this place several times and finally decided to write a quick review about it. After all, this is a new, promising place and I believe it will stay strong here in the Pak battlefield.

When I talked about the location, I thought it was really a great place, located at the corner of the busy intersection of Jalan Kelapa Kopur. I wondered why some of the restaurants on this corner (before OTW) didn’t make the cut. When it comes to the interior, they consciously create a casual environment with the interior of an old building, which is a smart way to introduce their street food concept.

There is also an outdoor dining area, for those who prefer a place without air conditioning, perhaps to enhance the ambience of the food street.
If you dig deeper into the food and service, they serve a very good meal. From Japan to Indonesia with reasonable prices from IDR 18k – IDR 65k (for a “martabak” or you can think of it as an Indonesian pancake with a large volume and a soft and fluffy texture, thanks to the use of a lot of butter). .
The concept of ordering is that you can go to the counter and order your favorite foods. You then pay, get a number and sit until your food is served and brought to your table. Simple, right? Surprisingly, service times were very quick on my visits, even when they were packed with hungry customers.
The Thai tea was nothing special. Thai tea was actually scarce, probably because of the snow mountain. But recently I had a cup of Iced Taro Milk Tea and it was delicious!

Traditionally, we were tempted to eat this ancient sweet cendol. If you don’t know what cendol is, cendol is a traditional Indonesian drink made from green rice jelly, coconut milk and melted palm sugar. It’s sweet and refreshing, making green jelly a fun part of the tasting session. The cendol here was very good with just the right dessert.
Don’t be fooled by the name and color because really, it was something special. It was a normal green fried rice (I don’t know where this color came from) with tender chicken cubes inside.
On the other hand, I tried Gyutan Fried Rice on my last visit and it was very good. It also had a lot of flavor and the beef helped a lot in making it.
As an OTW experience, this burger never disappoints. It also looked really boring (besides the unusually dark color), but when it came to the taste test, it did pretty well. I loved this spicy and sweet beef flavor with the added flavor of bacon, egg and melted cheese. However, one small thing is that the civilian in the suit of the Dark Knight was quite a failure. It was very dry and didn’t make much difference. I wish they would use normal soft bread instead of this typical hard bread.

I also tried the Martabak Green Tea (IDR 65K) here, which included cheese and chocolate, and although it wasn’t amazing, it was really good!
My friends tried Blackpepper and Teriyaki Gyuton Don, but it seems that both are good for them.
Overall, I thought OTW Kelapa was strong enough to be a new challenger in Gading. Although there is definitely room for improvement, I still have a positive view of this place. People (yes, I’m talking about myself!) will complain about this and that, but they will still have it for lunch, dinner, family time, social gatherings, etc. It is a beautiful place.
