A little known fact is that USPS stamps do not expire. Any unused stamp issued in 1860 or later can be used for postage. In the business, we call these vintage stamps or vintage postage. Just use enough stamps to equal the current postage rate.

You can find large rectangular washers, small square washers, and even circular washers. For example, at the time this blog post was written, the cost of a first-class stamp to send a letter was 60 cents. Imagine sending out invitations to a California beach wedding. You can use 4 stamps to reach the required 60 cents: 10 cents, 10 cents, 15 cents and 20 cents.
